Formwork provided interior design services for this complete renovation of the Jefferson Theater. Gate Pratt of Limehouse Architects provided architectural services. The project transformed the unoccupied building back into a theater for performance after decades of disuse. FORMWORK's role as interior architect was to transform the space into a modern music venue while retaining its historical features. Our strategy was to work with color to highlight detail using dark warm colors and bright white on decorative elements, allowing light to catch the most decorative moments in dramatic ways and to feature the most decorative moments of the original building. New program such as restrooms and bars are stand alone elements, free floating and distinct from the old.

Collaborators and craftspeople include Martin Horn (general contractor) and Wes Carter of Albemarle Countertops.
