Location: Charlottesville, Virginia
Located in the Holsinger Building also designed by FORMWORK, this apartment makes efficient use of a small space. Favoring cozy bedrooms and expansive living spaces, FORMWORK developed a concept where each space "borrows" from those that are adjacent. The bedrooms, dining, living and kitchen are organized around a core that holds bathroom, storage, laundry and pantry spaces. Through a series of overlaps in ceiling plane, floor finishes and sliding panels, the space for each function appears larger. A terrace runs along the length of the apartment and contributes to the visual extension of the interiors.

Collaborators and craftpeople involved included Dan Zimmerman of Alloy Workshop (living room built in), Charlottesville Woodworks and Mathers Construction.
